PHYL and PHYS courses
- PHYL course is a fake course name that will not be present on your transcripts. You do not register it in the normal registration period.
- You must register for the lab on lab registration date (face-to-face).
- At the end of the semester, it will be deleted from your academic records. However, you need to register and pass the relevant PHYL course in order to pass the main PHYS course.
- If you take the following PHYS courses for the first time, you must register the following PHYL courses on the Physics lab registration date:
PHYS 101 / PHYS 121 à PHYL 101
PHYS 102 / PHYS 130 à PHYL 102
PHYS 201 à PHYL 201
PHYS 202 à PHYL 202
- If you repeat any of these PHYS courses, you should check your very last lab grade for the corresponding PHYL course.
- If your very last PHYL grade is F or it does not exist, then you must register for the PHYL course.
- If your very last grade is at least 10 or more, then you do not register for the lab. Your very last lab grade will be used.
Effective from 2023 Spring semester, if you have already passed the lab, you do not repeat it.
- If your student number has changed for any reason, you must send an e-mail to physlab@boun.edu.tr with your old and new student numbers before the lab registration date. Indicate your full name and PHYL course. You must notify us each time you take a PHYS course with a lab.
- If you withdraw the main course, you may continue the lab. If you pass the lab, your grade will be valid when you repeat the main course so that you will not need to repeat the Lab.
