3. Announcements & Rules:

    3.1 Announcement Channels: The students are responsible from all announcements, rules, warnings and material thtoughout the Physics Lab Webpage (physlab.bogazici.edu.tr) and from all posts sent to their emails regsitered in the Boğaziçi registration system. 

    a-  It is the students' responsability to check both the Physics Lab Webpage and their registered e-mails regularly.

    b- The student cannot evade responsibility by claiming that announcements were made elsewhere or in a different manner beyond these two official channels.

    c- The responsibility for delayed awareness of announcements and rules lies with the student.

    d- In case of any discrepancy between statements made by the lab instructor or course instructor outside these channels and those on the web page or emails, the statements in these two official channels shall prevail.

     3.2 Authority concerning rules: The main course instructor does not have direct authority over lab rules.

     a- In cases not covered by the web page or emails, the Lab Coordinators and the Lab Committee are the sole authorities to make decisions.

     b- Any issues related to the lab must be reported to the Lab Coordinators in a timely manner.

     c- Lab coordinators, in cases where situations not covered by the rules or violations of the rules are communicated to them, may, if necessary, convene the lab committee or implicitly reject situations that clearly violate the rules.

     3.3 Lab Committee:  The Lab Committee convene at the end of the semester, to discuss written petitions from students. 

     a- In urgent cases, the Lab Committee may convene in mid-semester if one of the Lab Coordinators deem it necessary. 

     b- Appeals against Lab Committee decisions can be made within 5 business days via a written petition.

     c-  Appeals are reviewed and evaluated also in lab committee. The decisions made in the second meeting are final, and no further appeal or change is possible.

     3.4 Special Circumstances: In situations where the application of the rules is impossible or burdensome, and it is clear that it would lead to harm, the Lab Committee may convene and make decisions that override the written rules.

     a- Depending on the situation, the matter may be escalated to the department chair or the department committee, if considered necessary by the lab commitiee. 

     b- The initiative and authority in this matter lie solely with the Lab Committee.

     c- The lab commitie is responsible for the creation, annulation, imposing and execution of the Lab rules.
