Applied Exam Rules
6. Applied Exam Rules
6.1 The Applied Exam:
a- The Applied Exams are conducted during the weeks specified in the semester schedule for each course. They cannot be rescheduled or made up in another week.
b- Applied exams are held in the laboratory classroom at the scheduled time of the student's assigned section. The exam duration is 40 minutes. Each lab session includes two consecutive exams.
c- Students coordinate with their lab partners, with one taking the exam in the first hour and the other in the second hour. They take the exam individually at the same table where they conducted their experiments.
d- Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late will not be allowed to take the exam and will receive a zero.
e- If lab partners do not agree on the exam order, the student whose surname comes first alphabetically will take the exam in the first session.
f- If neither student attends the first session, priority in the second session will be given to the student whose surname comes later alphabetically. The other student will receive a zero.
g- If the second student does not arrive within the first 10 minutes of the second session, the first student will be allowed to take the exam instead.
h- The exam starts at 5 minutes past the hour and ends at 15 minutes to the hour. Students arriving after 15 minutes past the hour will not be allowed to take the exam. Leaving the exam room before this time is not permitted.
i- During the applied exam, students cannot leave the exam room for any reason without submitting their exam papers. If a student leaves, their exam is considered finished, and they cannot re-enter the exam room.
j - Students must bring only a basic scientific calculator with no additional functions and a blank printout of the exam paper. No other electronic devices, printed, or digital materials are allowed during the exam. If a student is found using any unauthorized material, their exam will be canceled, a report will be filed, and they will receive a zero for the practical exam. The case will also be reported to the main course instructor.
k- Students are not allowed to talk to each other or, unless otherwise stated, to the supervisor during the exam. They cannot share any objects, materials, or devices, nor can they show their exam papers, data, or analyses to others.
l - The exam paper must be filled out until the end of the exam period. When time is up, students must stop writing and give their exam sheets (stapled) to the proctor or leave them on the table. Leaving the exam in the last five minutes is not allowed. If a student wishes to leave earlier, they must submit their exam paper and return any borrowed equipment to the supervisor. Once a student submits their exam paper, they cannot return to the exam.
m - Students must write the required personal information, table, and device numbers on their exam paper. If a student fails to write the table or device number or the given parameters, their exam paper will not be graded, and they will receive a zero.
